The Antioquia’s Institute of Reproductive Medicine, INSER, has become one of the leading groups in the diagnosis and treatment of fertility problems in Colombia. Many couples have made their dream of being parents, come true with the help of our group.

1989 The first test tube babies are born in our city, thanks to the pioneer work of one of our founders.
1995 INSER is created as a center devoted exclusively to human reproduction.
1996 First pregnancy produced by intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) for the treatment of severe masculine infertility. First baby produced by ICSI and testicular biopsy in a man with no sperm ejaculation is born in Colombia.
1997 INSER earns top research award at the III Meeting of the Colombian Infertility Society.
1998 First pregnancy through extended culture and blastocyst transfer.
1999 INSER earns top research award at the Latin American Federation of Fertility and Sterility Societies Meeting, (Federación Latinamericana de Sociedades de Esterilidad y Fertilidad - FLASEF), Panama.
2001 INSER, in association with CES University develops the first postgraduate program (fellowship) in Human Reproduction in Colombia endorsed by ICFES (Colombian Institute for Fostering Higher Education – Instituto Colombiano para el Fomento de la Educación Superior).
2003 INSER celebrates the birth if its first 1000 babies. INSER starts a Pre-Implantation Genetic Diagnosis program. INSER earns the top Clinical Research award at the 6th National and the 3rd International Meeting of the Colombian Fertility and Sterility Association.
2004 INSER creates the first umbilical cord blood stem cell bank in Colombia.
2005 Inser opens a second IVF center in Pereira, Risaralda (Colombia’s coffee region).
2007 Inser opens a third IVF center in Montería, Cordoba.
2010 Sponsors III Internacional Simposium of Endometriosis and Fertility.
Opens a third IVF center in Bogotá Colombia.
